Akemi at Doki Doki Festival 2019

Akemi Tanaka will be a guest at the forthcoming Doki Doki Manchester Japanese Festival this November.

The organisers of the event have also selected Aid For Japan as their charity of choice for this year’s festival.

Akemi Tanaka will be a guest at Doki Doki to talk about her new book The Power Of Chowa as well as Aid For Japan, the charity she founded to support the orphans of the 2011 earthquake/tsunami.

Doki Doki will feature a wealth of events and guests including Angela Davies, Helena Cox, Yuko Howes and Sophie Carroll along with manga artists Chie Kutsuwada and Inko. The event will also be staging panels and talks on a wide range of topics, including Japanese Pop Culture, Taiko Drumming, the History of Manga and more.

Music guests include Akari Mochizuki. Film screenings include Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms and Mirai
